Welcome to LATINPHOTO.org LATINPHOTO.org is an Internet photo database and its subject theme is everything about Latin America. The database was posted in December 2000 and is updated on a regular basis. LATINPHOTO.org is a documentary photo archive and does, whenever possible, refrain from using posed photos. Our editorial department strives to obtain authentic and expressive photos in collaboration with photographers from all of Latin America. The following themes are represented: Economy, social life, culture, politics, environmental issues, tourism, people, and conflict areas. LATINPHOTO.org consciously supports photographers from Latin America, who, with this website, receive the possibility to offer their photos worldwide. When we began in December 2000, our goal, however, is to offer an archive with photos from all over Latin America. The photo archive can be accessed world wide through the internet. Of course, we welcome orders of exclusive photo productions at our locations. In our database, there is digitalized data of conventional picture material (slides, colour, and black and white negatives), as well as picture material that was taken by digital cameras. The pictures taken by digital cameras are always labeled "DIGITA IMAGING" and are available in their full size. Pictures of LATINphoto photographers are available as follows on the server: Conventional pictures: Print size
250 dpi 24cm, also smaller Digital pictures: Long side
2048 pixels All pictures are adapted so that they can be converted into CMYK modus without any larger corrections. The histograms of the pictures are complete and offer a continuous course of colour. All pictures are focused and corrected. All photos are archived according to the international standard IPTC. For example, any additional information can be found with Photoshop under "info" in the menu bar. Various programs as for example Fotostation support this format. The photos of all LATINPHOTO.org photographers are copyrighted and for publication a fee needs to be paid and a copy of the publication needs to be submitted. All rights reserved for LATINPHOTO.org photographers. It is not allowed to distribute any pictures to any third party. November 2000 © LATINPHOTO.org
